The Glock G17 is used by all three Services as a personal protection weapon in situations where a full sized rifle is not appropriate, or as a secondary weapon to provide a backup to the user’s primary weapon.

Designated Marksman Weapon (DMW)
The DMW is provided to specially trained soldiers within our Army to provide target detection, recognition, identification and neutralisation in the field.
Combined with a trained operator, the DMW provides the ability for precise long range suppression and neutralization. -
Benelli M3 (NZ) Tactical Shotgun
The M3 Benelli shotgun is used in two primary configurations by all three Services.
Dependent on the nature of ammunition used it is capable of delivering the following tactical outputs: less than lethal, breeching, short range lethal effects, and pest control. -
MAG 58 - 7.62mm Machine Gun
The MAG 58 is used in a variety of configurations across the NZDF to provide offensive and defensive support. It can be fired off its own integral bipod, a sustained fire tripod or various vehicle and aircraft mounts.
