Sail Training Craft

The Experiential Leadership Squadron, under the wing of the Navy’s Leadership Development Group, operate three 12-metre Chico 40 yachts named Manga II, Mako II and Paea II.

The yachts are used primarily for leadership training in a maritime environment for Basic Common Trainees, Junior Officer Common Trainees and Experiential Leadership Development Activities. Our Defence Force personnel can utilise the yachts for adventure training, recreational sailing and competitive sailing.
