German Air Force visit

The Royal New Zealand Air Force is hosting several German Air Force aircraft and working alongside them as they conduct flying training in Airbus A400M Atlas transport aircraft. This page provides updates on the exercise and planned training activities for the public to be aware of. All times and flights are approx and weather dependent.

Blenheim, Waiouru and Ohakea Area Alert - two A400M Atlas aircraft.

Tomorrow, Wednesday, 19 November, two German Air Force A400M Atlas aircraft will fly from Base Woodbourne at around 10:00am. It will head north to Waiouru for cargo drops and near Mount Ngauruhoe and then back to Base Woodbourne, via Base Ohakea. There is planned low-level flying.

The two aircraft will also repeat the task later in the afternoon from 2.00pm.

All flights will be conducted in accordance with approved military operating procedures and are weather dependent. Members of the public should not be concerned.

Guten Tag and Kia ora Luftwaffe. Today, the Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF) welcomed our visitors from the German Air Force (GAF) to New Zealand.

Two German Air Force A400M military transport aircraft are planned to arrive at Base Ohakea tomorrow, 6 November.
