Strategic Intentions 2026 – 2030
The NZDF protects New Zealand’s defence interests in a deliberate and purposeful way, shaping itself to respond to the challenging security environment. Intensifying strategic competition is increasing global and regional tensions, raising the likelihood of military confrontation and conflict. As the geopolitical environment changes, the NZDF needs to be capable of responding to a more volatile and unstable operating environment. The NZDF is embedding a
