NZDF liaison officer deployed to Israel
The New Zealand Defence Force has deployed a liaison officer to Israel to help gather information for the New Zealand Government on possible next steps in the Gaza peace deal.
30 October, 2025
The deployment is for an initial six weeks. The liaison officer will be based at the United States led Civil Military Coordination Centre.
The United States established the centre earlier this month. It acts as a coordination hub for support to Gaza, monitoring the implementation of the ceasefire agreement, and supporting the implementation of the 20 Point Peace Plan to end the conflict in Gaza.
Decisions on any future deployment are a matter for the government.
