The Queen's Medal for Champion Shots of the New Zealand Naval Forces may be awarded annually to the champion shot in the Royal New Zealand Navy.
The Queen's Medal for Champion Shots of the New Zealand Naval Forces has not been renamed the King's Medal for Champion Shots of the New Zealand Naval Forces.
Description
The Queen's Medal for Champion Shots of the New Zealand Naval Forces is silver and circular in shape. On the obverse of the medal is the Crowned Effigy of the Sovereign, and on the reverse is a representation of Neptune, grasping thunderbolts in each hand, and in the background the prow of a Roman trireme drawn by three sea horses; the whole surrounded by the inscription “Amat Victoria curam”.
The ribbon has a broad central stripe of red flanked on either side by a narrow stripe of white and a broad stripe of dark blue.
The year of the award is inscribed on a clasp attached to the medal ribbon. Subsequent awards to the same person are recognised by the award of further clasps.

The Queen's Medal for Champion Shots of the New Zealand Naval Forces is awarded to the winner of the Naval Rifle Championship. All competitors must be actual serving members of the Royal New Zealand Navy, or the reserve or auxiliary Naval Forces of New Zealand.

It is worn after the Air Efficiency/New Zealand Air Efficiency Award and before the Queen's Medal for Champion Shots of the New Zealand Military Forces.
