Leave entitlements for Territorial Force

Territorial Force members are not entitled to standard leave but receive a 10% holiday pay premium alongside their regular pay. This page outlines the leave options available, including parental leave for eligible members and an incentive for returning to work after parental leave.

Members of the Territorial Forces are not entitled to leave, other than Parental Leave. However, members are paid a holiday pay premium of 10%, in addition to their pay received for hours worked.

Parental leave may be available to Territorial Force members who have met qualifying continuous service and are the primary carer or partner of a primary carer when they assume the permanent care of a child under the age of six years.

A parental returning incentive may be paid to members that return to work for 26 weeks following a period of parental leave. The member receives a payment of up to six weeks’ pay.
