Pacific Connections
Pacific Connections is an NZDF programme that supports understanding, respect, and engagement with Pasifika people, cultures, and communities.
Working alongside other NZDF programmes, the Pacific Connections programme strengthens our ability to operate effectively across our workforce and throughout the Pacific region.
The programme focuses on positive, shared experiences for all NZDF personnel when supporting Pasifika colleagues, engaging with Pacific communities, and working in Pacific environments. It contributes to building strong relationships grounded in mutual respect, understanding, and collective success.
Pacific Connections also supports NZDF’s role in advancing Pacific partnerships in line with the New Zealand Government’s vision of collaboration based on friendship, mutual benefit, and sustainable outcomes with our Pacific neighbours.
Support and guidance are available to NZDF staff and key external partners through talanoa (dialogue) and cultural capability workshops and training.
