The forecast financial statements of the New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) contained in this Statement of Intent have been prepared in accordance with Section 38 of the Public Finance Act 1989. In accordance with Treasury instructions, the financial statements within this Statement of Intent incorporate details on Vote Veterans’ Affairs-Defence.
As Chief of Defence Force I acknowledge, in signing this statement, my responsibility for the information contained in this Statement of Intent, including the forecast financial statements.
The forecast performance to be achieved for each NZDF and Veterans’ Affairs-Defence output expense for the year ending 30 June 2008, and as specified in the statement of objectives, including the financial performance forecast, is as agreed with, respectively, the Minister of Defence and the Minister of Veterans’ Affairs, who are the Ministers responsible for, respectively, Vote Defence Force and Vote Veterans’ Affairs.
We certify that the information contained in this Statement of Intent is consistent with the appropriations contained in the Estimates for the year ending 30 June 2008 that are being laid before the House.
