NZDF Can Be "Justifiably Proud"

12 February 2008

Admiral MG Mullen. The NZDF should be proud of its efforts to promote peace and stability both in the Pacific region and worldwide, says Admiral MG Mullen, US Navy, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff in a letter to CDF, LTGEN Jerry Mateparae.

“On behalf of the men and women of the Armed Forces of the United States and the Joint Chiefs of Staff, congratulations to you and the members of the New Zealand Defence Force as you celebrate the anniversary of Waitangi Treaty.

“You can be justifiably proud of the efforts of the New Zealand Defence Force to promote peace and stability both in the Pacific Region and worldwide. The members of the US military join me in saluting the New Zealand Defence Force for its continued support in the war on terrorism.”
