The New Zealand Defence Force is encouraging the public to send a message to the Kiwi Forces who will be overseas on Christmas Day.
Waiting for personnel to return from Afghanistan
The facility on the NZDF website allows people to send either a general or individual message to military personnel deployed overseas. The messages will be sent to each overseas mission prior to Christmas Day.
Being away from home and your loved ones is difficult at any time but even more so at Christmas.
“With Christmas being such an important time for families and friends, receiving messages from home can be a huge morale boost for the hundreds of Defence Force personnel serving overseas at this special time.
“This initiative is a great way for people to send a message to their loved ones or just to acknowledge the fantastic job that all NZDF personnel are doing on behalf of New Zealand in some of the world’s trouble spots.
“I strongly encourage you to support our people by sending a Christmas message.” Commander Joint Forces New Zealand, Air Vice-Marshal Peter Stockwell said.
