Defence personnel named in New Year's Honours

Seven New Zealand Defence Force personnel have been named in the 2009 New Year’s Honours. 

The recipients are as follows:

To be a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit (MNZM):

To be an Additional Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit (MNZM):

Lives in Wanaka

To receive The Queen’s Service Order:

Ms Jessie Muriel May Gunn, MBE
Former Director of Veteran’s Affairs New Zealand
Lives in Island Bay, Wellington

To receive the Distinguished Service Decoration (DSD):

Gunner Phillip John MANNING
Royal Regiment of New Zealand Artillery
Based at Linton Military Camp, near Palmerston North

Warrant Officer Stores Accountant Neil Andrew ROBERTS
Royal New Zealand Navy
Lives in Silverstream, Upper Hutt

Colonel Sean TRENGROVE, MVO
Colonels’ List, New Zealand Army (Territorial Force)
Based in Nelson

Warrant Officer Class Two John Francis WEEL
Royal Regiment of New Zealand Artillery
