Kiwi troops returning from Timor Leste

On Wednesday 12 December 2007, 109 New Zealand Defence Force Personnel drawn largely from the 2/1 Royal New Zealand Infantry Regiment based at Burnham will return from a six month tour of duty in Timor-Leste.

Forty-four personnel from the same rotation returned at an earlier date.

The returning personnel were the third rotation to serve and have been relieved by a contingent of 144.  

Upon arrival at Christchurch International Airport they will be greeted by Commander Joint Forces NZ Major General Rhys Jones, family and friends.

When: 12 December 2007, two flights arrive 4.10pm and 4.25pm
Where: Christchurch International Airport
What: Arrival of 109 NZDF personnel from operations in Timor-Leste.
