Central and upper North Island residents should not be alarmed at the sight of Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF) C-130 Hercules aircraft flying as low as 250 ft over the region over the period 11 - 21 Sept 07.

Formation flying, operations from various landing zones, the dropping of light equipment to targeted drop zones and tactical night flying will make up the flying training essential for RNZAF C-130 Hercules operations.

Residents of Kaitaia, Kerikeri, Whangarei, Whakatane and Taupo should also keep an eye out for the C-130 as it conducts low level approaches and airfield overshoots into the local airfields.

The bi-annual exercise for RNZAF 40 Squadron crews will operate from the Air Force base at Whenuapai.
