Navy Survey and Hydrographic Vessel, HMNZS RESOLUTION will take a welcome break from intensive surveying tasks when she visits Tauranga from Thursday 6 – Tuesday 11 September.
Joining HMNZS RESOLUTION in Tauranga for this port visit are Patrol Craft HMNZ Ships KIWI, WAKAKURA and KAHU, scheduled to arrive in port on Friday 7 September.
KIWI, WAKAKURA and KAHU have been involved in five days of rigorous navigational training whilst in transit from Auckland and will depart Tauranga on Monday 10 September for a further training period enroute to Whangarei.
RESOLUTION departs Tauranga on Tuesday 11 September to commence hydrographic tasks in the Hawkes Bay area.
The ships will not be open to the public during this visit.
Also scheduled to visit Tauranga is Chief of Navy, Rear Admiral David Ledson, who will visit the Tauranga Sub-Unit of (Naval Reservist Unit) HMNZS NGAPONA on 10 September from 7:45 pm at the premises in Tauranga.
Rear Admiral Ledson will be meeting with the local Naval Reservists, reviewing a special parade and presenting a Good Conduct Badge to a local Naval Reservist.
