Poppy Day raises $75,000

17 May 2007

Wellingtonians showed their generosity during the recent Poppy Day appeal, raising a total of $75,000 for the Wellington division of the Royal New Zealand Returned and Services’ Association (RNZRSA).

Wellington division chairman David Moloney said, “We are delighted with the result, however the collection would not have been possible without our fantastic volunteers from the Ministry of Defence, New Zealand Defence Force, Veterans Affairs New Zealand and the members and families of the Wellington RSA.”

“The funds will be used in the Wellington region to help many of the veterans of WWII, Korea, Malaya and Vietnam who need medical and welfare assistance,” he said.
