Two Naval ships will be heading to Northland for Anzac Day services.
The In Shore Patrol Craft, HMNZS KAHU, will be in Whangaroa Harbour with 10 members of the crew joining the 9 am march and official service in Kaeo.
Naval Diving Tender, HMNZS MANAWANUI, will be in Whangarei with the Commanding Officer and his crew attending the Dawn Parade. Attendance at other services in the area is as follows:
• Divers will attend Pehiaweri Marae at 10 am
• Commanding Officer plus six crew will attend Hikurangi at 10 am
• Executive Officer plus six crew will attend Kamo War Memorial Hall at 10 am
• Executive Officer plus 2 crew will attend The Kamo Home and Village Memorial Service at 3 pm
Naval personnel will lay wreaths at all the above services. The two ships companies form part of the large number of New Zealand Defence Force personnel throughout New Zealand and the 670 personnel serving overseas in 19 countries, attending a range of commemorative Anzac events.
