A parade of New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) personnel and veterans will be part of the Auckland War Memorial Museum Cenotaph re-dedication ceremony to be held on Sunday 18 March at 5.30pm.
The ceremony will be attended by His Royal Highness The Duke of York as part of his visit to New Zealand.
A catafalque guard comprising personnel from the Army, Navy and Air Force will be paraded in support of the ceremony. Music will be provided by the Royal New Zealand Navy Band.
The Chief of Navy, Rear Admiral David Ledson will lay a wreath on behalf of the men and woman of the NZDF.
The Auckland War Memorial Museum Cenotaph, which was built in 1929, has recently been upgraded with new spot up-lighting and a basalt base.
The re-dedication ceremony is a collaborative event led by the Auckland War Memorial Museum with assistance from the Auckland City Council, RSA Auckland Club Inc and the NZDF.
