Explosion in Sinai - New Zealand Defence Force Member Involved

An explosion has occurred close to North Camp, in the Sinai Peninsula.  A member of the New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) serving with the Sinai based Multi National Force and Observers (MFO) was involved in the incident. 

The NZDF member has not sustained any injuries.  He was undertaking a driving task at the time of the explosion.  He was taken back to North Camp soon after the incident.

The explosion occurred at approximately 9pm NZ time (11am local time).

26 NZDF members are currently serving with the MFO.  Further information about the NZDF contribution to the MFO can be found at www.nzdf.mil.nz <http://www.nzdf.mil.nz> under Operations.
