A People’s Liberation Army (PLA) (Navy) Naval Academy Training Delegation led by Vice Admiral Wang Yucheng, Deputy Commander PLA Navy, will visit New Zealand over the period 11 – 16 April 2005. The purpose of the visit is to view New Zealand Defence Force training facilities and discuss training issues affecting both armed forces. The Delegation will be visiting Wellington on 11 and 12 April 2005 and the Naval Support Command in Auckland on 13 April 2005.
Vice Admiral Wang will be accompanied by a delegation of five PLA officers and the Chinese Deputy Defence Attaché, Colonel Hu Jihui who is based in Wellington. The visit is hosted by the Deputy Chief of Navy.
