The Royal New Zealand Naval Volunteer Reserve Inshore Patrol Craft HMNZS MOA will be put through a set of simulated events conducted at sea outside the Port of Dunedin this weekend. The Navy's Maritime Operational Evaluation Team, led by Lieutenant Commander Matthew Williams, will be assessing MOA in a range of simulated events including navigation, man overboard, alarm shark drills, medical, damage control (fire and flooding).
The Dunedin Fire Service will be on site to provide assistance and support in exercising the main machinery space fire scheduled for Sunday 7 November 0820 - 1000 whilst berthed alongside the Dunedin Wharf.
The training is to prepare MOA's Commanding Officer and Crew for the upcoming Naval Reserve Exercise "SQUADEX 05" scheduled for late January.
