The Royal New Zealand Navy was the lead Service for the special duties in support of the State Funeral for Sir Edmund Hillary (1919 - 2008). Service personnel from the Royal New Zealand Navy, NZ Army, and the Royal New Zealand Air Force undertook several duties throughout the State Funeral proceedings on Monday 21 January at The Cathedral of the Holy Trinity and on Tuesday 22 January 2008 at St Mary’s in Holy Trinity in Parnell, Auckland.
