Armistice Day marks the anniversary of the Armistice that ended the First World War on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month.
It also commemorates the sacrifice of those who died serving New Zealand in this and all armed conflict. 2009 year is the 91st anniversary of Armistice Day and it was marked with a number of services both overseas and in New Zealand.
