Outstanding service over an extended period of time has earned Payroll Operations Manager Norma Parekura a Chief of Defence Force Commendation.
Lieutenant General Jerry Mateparae, Chief of New Zealand’s Defence Force presented Norma with the commendation for her contribution to the continued effective functioning of the NZDF’s central payroll processing last Friday in Trentham.
Norma, who has worked for the New Zealand Defence Force for 22 years, is widely respected by civilian and military payroll administrators across NZDF for her in-depth knowledge and understanding of the NZDF’s payroll systems.
She is regularly invited to attend and speak at national Administrators’ Working Groups and meetings, and her knowledge and experience means she is often called upon to support both Personnel Branch and Veterans Affairs New Zealand in researching historical payroll enquiries.
Norma has been instrumental in revising work practises within Payroll Operations to ensure that the quality of service continues to be delivered, despite the increasingly complex external payroll environment, and the pressures for efficiencies within Head Quarters NZDF.
