NZ Defence Force personnel provided ceremonial support to the State Opening of Parliament today. A 100 Guard of Honour of Navy, Army and Air Force personnel was paraded on the forecourt of Parliament.
The Guard of Honour delivered the Royal Salute to His Excellency Lieutenant General The Right Honourable Sir Jerry Mateparae GNZM QSO Governor-General of New Zealand. The Governor-General then inspected the Guard, while at the same time a 21 gun salute was fired from Point Jerningham by personnel from 16 Field Regiment.
The official party then moved into Parliament Buildings.
