OSCS Latu at the 2009 Anzac Service held at the National War Memorial (OH09-0252-003tn)
As part of this year’s Anzac Day commemorations on 25 April the New Zealand Defence Force invites students in Years 7 and 8 to enter Operation Anzac Forces.
What it’s all about?
Anzac Day is a day of remembrance for the fallen of all wars, but specifically it commemorates the day Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZACs) landed at Gallipoli in 1915.
While Anzac Day is a day of remembrance, it is also a day to reflect on the work of our current military personnel, who continue to work alongside Australian Defence Force personnel and military personnel from other countries.
