2010 Competition:
As part of this year’s Anzac Day commemoration on 25 April the Defence Force invites students in Years 7 and 8 to enter Operation Anzac Forces.
What it’s all about
Anzac Day is a day of remembrance for the fallen of all wars, but specifically it commemorates the day Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZACs) landed at Gallipoli in 1915.
While Anzac Day is a day of remembrance, it is also a day to reflect on the work of our current military personnel in New Zealand and around the world, who continue to work alongside Australian Defence Force personnel and military personnel from other countries.
How to enter
Design a poster showing NZ Defence Force personnel working overseas today. This can be in the medium of your choice (drawing, painting, collage etc) but please no items larger than A3 size. The competition closes on Sunday 25 April.
The prizes
There are three main prizes up for grabs. The winner will have first choice, then the second place getter:
- A day at Devonport Naval Base, plus a NZ Kiwi cap as worn by NZDF personnel overseas
- A day with the Army, plus a NZ Kiwi cap
- A visit to RNZAF Base Auckland or Ohakea, plus a NZ Kiwi cap
Four runners up will be awarded a prize pack of Defence Force products.
Winners will be able to bring a friend and parent/caregiver on their visit.
Winners will be announced on Monday 10 May.
