The NZ Army has a total strength of about 7200 personnel, of whom about 2000 are non regular (Territorial) personnel who operate from battalion headquarters in various towns around New Zealand.
The regular Army operates from five bases in New Zealand - at Papakura, Waiouru, Linton, Trentham and Burnham. Each base is “home” to a specified group of operational units, with logistics units providing support both at home and overseas.
