Curriculum

The NZDF Command and Staff College run three courses through the academic year:

Joint Command and Staff Course

Joint Command Staff and Course is a 32 week residential course which aims to prepare selected Officers of Major equivalent or higher rank for high grade command and staff appointments.
The residential course covers a postgraduate syllabus leading to the qualification of Postgraduate Diploma of Arts (Defence and Strategic Studies).

Joint Junior Staff Course

The Joint Junior Staff Course is an intense, eight week residential course which aims to prepare selected Junior Officers for Major (E) responsibilities.
This residential course covers an undergraduate syllabus at level six on the New Zealand National Qualification Authority (NZQA) framework. This translates to level 200 at university level - or second year degree study.

Joint Warrant Officer Advanced Course

The Joint Warrant Officer Advanced Course is a six week long, residential development course for senior Warrant Officers of the New Zealand Defence Force.
