The Royal New Zealand Navy (RNZN) is a high technology organisation that trains for, operates and supports leading edge military technologies to provide combat capability. The widespread adoption of leading edge non-military technologies is also significant and has recently increased considerably with the acquisition of new vessels.

The Deputy Director of Naval Construction is a key figure in managing the medium and longer-term naval architectural aspects of the RNZN. You’ll be contributing to the leadership and management of project engineering activities and to the RNZN’s wider corporate interests, as well as providing day-to-day technical advice.
 
As a degree qualified member of the Royal Institution of Naval Architects (or equivalent), you have postgraduate experience in practicing naval architecture, preferably including the fields of ship stability and structures. You possess highly developed analysis and problem assessment skills, exceptional relationship management and advisory skills, solid project management experience and proven initiative.
