 Miscellaneous Support Activities

The provision of the NZDF training infrastructure and planned support to regional Defence Forces and the New Zealand community that is provided by identified elements of the NZDF.  It includes support provided under the auspices of the Mutual Assistance Programme (MAP), support for the New Zealand Cadet Forces (NZCF), provisions of Service Museums and support to Youth Development (Limited Service Volunteer Courses) and contributions to Youth Life Skills programmes (Service Academies and Military-Style Activity Camps).

In summary, the NZDF conducts:

  • between 200 to 250 MAP activities each year;
  • about 40 courses for both NZCF officers and cadets each year; and
  • five courses (each of six weeks duration) for Limited Service Volunteers each year.
